Overview:
The 9-day extended northern circuit is designed for travellers who want the most thorough exploration of Tanzania's flagship parks without combining safari with a beach extension. Two nights in Tarangire give full morning and afternoon game drives in the park. Lake Manyara gets an afternoon and a morning. Five nights in the Serengeti is the full treatment — enough time to explore all zones of the park, chase the migration wherever it is happening, and experience multiple dawn game drives as the light changes. The Ngorongoro Crater closes the circuit.

Day 1: Moshi → Tarangire National Park

Depart Moshi for Tarangire. Afternoon game drive along the river. Overnight inside the park.

Day 2: Tarangire — Full Day (Morning & Afternoon)
- Tarangire NP
Full day in Tarangire: dawn drive for predators, back to camp for breakfast, afternoon drive into the remote southern sections of the park. Overnight inside Tarangire.

Day 3: Tarangire → Lake Manyara National Park

Morning game drive in Tarangire, then drive to Lake Manyara. Full afternoon game drive: tree-climbing lions, hippo pool, forest walk area, and lakeshore birdlife. Overnight near Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Lake Manyara → Serengeti National Park

Morning exploration around Lake Manyara, then drive through the Ngorongoro highlands to the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in the Seronera central area. Overnight inside the Serengeti.

Day 5: Serengeti — Central Seronera Zone

Full day focused on the Seronera valley and its resident wildlife. Lion prides, leopard in the sausage trees, and the kopjes where cheetah survey the plains. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 6: Serengeti — Western Corridor or Northern Zone

A full day in a different Serengeti zone — the remote western corridor (hippos in the Grumeti River) or the northern Loliondo area depending on season. Access to zones with very few other vehicles. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 7: Serengeti — Northern Mara River Zone

During July to October: a day focused on the northern Serengeti's Mara River crossing zone — the location of the great migration river crossings. During other seasons, a full exploration of the northern plains and the Mara area's resident wildlife. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 8: Serengeti — Final Morning → Ngorongoro

Dawn game drive in the Serengeti before departing mid-morning for Ngorongoro. Descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive. Full Big Five viewing, black rhino, and flamingos. Overnight on the crater rim or in the conservation area.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Morning → Moshi

Optional early morning walk or crater rim viewing before departing for Moshi. Arrive mid-afternoon. End of safari.
