Overview:
The 6-day safari adds a third night in the Serengeti compared to the 5-day, which is the most significant single improvement you can make to a northern circuit itinerary. Three nights in the Serengeti means three morning game drives and two afternoon drives — giving your guide the time and flexibility to seek out specific wildlife rather than covering ground. If you are visiting during the great migration (July to October for river crossings, January to March for calving), the extra Serengeti day makes it far more likely you will witness a key event.

Day 1: Moshi → Tarangire National Park

Depart Moshi after breakfast. Drive to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive along the river. Overnight inside the park.

Day 2: Tarangire → Lake Manyara National Park
- Lake Manyara NP
Morning game drive in Tarangire, then drive to Lake Manyara. Afternoon game drive: tree-climbing lions, hippo pools, flamingos, and lakeshore birdlife. Overnight near Lake Manyara.

Day 3: Lake Manyara → Serengeti National Park

Morning departure through the Ngorongoro highlands to the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in the Seronera area. Overnight inside the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti — Full Day (Dawn, Morning & Afternoon)

Full day in the Serengeti. Dawn departure before sunrise for the best predator light — lions, leopard, and cheetah are most active at dawn. Return to camp for breakfast, then an afternoon drive into a different zone. The Serengeti rewards time: this day allows your guide to respond to what the wildlife is doing rather than following a fixed route. Overnight inside the park.

Day 5: Serengeti — Second Full Day

A second full day in the Serengeti. With two consecutive full days, your guide can cover additional areas — the kopjes (granite outcrops) where lions and leopard rest, the river crossings in the north during migration season, or the remote western corridor if conditions allow. Overnight inside the Serengeti.

Day 6: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Moshi
- Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Early morning from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater. Full morning game drive on the crater floor — Big Five, black rhino, flamingos, and concentrated predator activity. Picnic lunch inside. Drive back to Moshi.
