Overview:
The 7-day northern circuit safari is the most complete version of the classic Tanzania itinerary. Two nights in Tarangire gives a full day in the park — both morning and afternoon game drives — which significantly improves predator sightings and allows time in the more remote areas of the park beyond the main river. Lake Manyara gets a dedicated afternoon. Three nights in the Serengeti give your guide three full mornings and two full afternoons, enough time to explore multiple zones and respond to the migration movement or predator activity wherever it is happening. The Ngorongoro Crater closes the circuit.

Day-by-Day Itinerary — 7-Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari

Day 1: Moshi → Tarangire National Park
- Tarangire NP
Depart Moshi after breakfast. Drive to Tarangire (approximately 3 hours) and enter for an afternoon game drive. The Tarangire River corridor draws the largest elephant concentrations in northern Tanzania during the dry season. Overnight at a mid-range tented camp inside the park.

Day 2: Tarangire — Full Day (Morning & Afternoon Game Drives)

A full second day in Tarangire. Morning game drive at dawn — the light is better, the temperature cooler, and predators are more active. The park's more remote zones to the south hold fewer vehicles and higher wildlife density during peak season. Afternoon drive through different terrain. Overnight inside the park.

Day 3: Tarangire → Lake Manyara National Park

Morning departure for Lake Manyara (approximately 1.5 hours from Tarangire). Afternoon game drive in the park's varied habitats: the groundwater forest at the escarpment base, the open floodplain, the hippo pool, and the lakeshore where flamingos congregate when water levels are right. Known for tree-climbing lions. Overnight near Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Lake Manyara → Serengeti National Park

Morning departure through the Ngorongoro highlands toward the Serengeti (approximately 4 hours). Enter through Naabi Hill gate and begin an afternoon game drive. The Seronera valley is the most productive year-round zone: resident lion prides, a reliable leopard population, and large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. Overnight inside the Serengeti.

Day 5: Serengeti — Full Day Game Drives

Full day in the Serengeti. Dawn drive for predator activity, back to camp for breakfast, afternoon drive exploring a second zone based on your guide's intelligence about wildlife movements. The kopjes (granite outcrops) scattered across the Seronera area are favourite resting spots for lions and leopard. Overnight in the Serengeti.

Day 6: Serengeti — Second Full Day

A third morning in the Serengeti allows exploration beyond the central Seronera — the north (Mara River crossing zone during migration season), the remote Lobo area, or the open short-grass plains to the south depending on the time of year. Your guide will plan the day around current wildlife intelligence. Overnight inside the park.

Day 7: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Moshi
- Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Early morning departure for Ngorongoro. Descend into the world's largest intact caldera for a full morning game drive — Big Five, black rhino, flamingos, and the most concentrated wildlife density on the circuit. Picnic lunch inside the crater. Drive back to Moshi, arriving late afternoon.
