Booking Terms

These booking terms provide practical detail on the booking process with Maluku Global Tours and Safaris. They should be read alongside our full Terms and Conditions.

How to book

All bookings begin with an enquiry — by email, phone, WhatsApp, or the quote request form on this website. We will respond with a proposed itinerary and pricing. Once you agree to proceed, we issue a booking confirmation and deposit invoice. Your booking is held but not confirmed until the deposit is received.

Deposits

A deposit is required to confirm your booking and secure your dates. The deposit amount varies by tour type and is specified in your booking confirmation. For Kilimanjaro climbs, the deposit covers park permit reservations which must be paid to the national park in advance. For safaris, the deposit covers accommodation reservations and vehicle allocation.

Balance payment

The balance of the tour cost is due before departure, by the date specified in your booking confirmation. We will send a reminder before the due date. Please note that some components of the tour — park fees, accommodation — may have been pre-paid on your behalf and cannot be recovered if the balance is not received.

What is included

Your booking confirmation will specify exactly what is included in your tour. Typical inclusions for a Kilimanjaro climb: park entry fees, camping fees, guide, assistant guide, porters, cook, meals on the mountain, camping equipment. Typical inclusions for a safari: 4WD vehicle, driver-guide, park entry fees, fuel, accommodation as specified, meals as specified. Read your confirmation carefully and contact us immediately if anything is unclear.

What is not included

Unless specifically stated in your confirmation, the following are not included: international flights, domestic flights within Tanzania, airport taxes, visa fees, travel insurance, personal spending money, tips for guides and crew, laundry, telephone calls, and any activities not listed in the itinerary.

Tipping

Tipping is not included in the tour price and is at the client's discretion. It is, however, an important part of the income of guides, porters, drivers, and camp crew in Tanzania. We provide guidance on standard tip amounts before your tour departs. Tips are given directly to the crew at the end of the tour.

Amendments to bookings

If you need to change your tour dates or itinerary after confirmation, contact us as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes, subject to availability and any costs already committed. Amendments may result in a change to the tour price. Changes that reduce the tour duration or scope after confirmation may be treated as a partial cancellation under the cancellation policy in our Terms and Conditions.
